Tikal, Mayan Temples in Guatemala

The number one item on our to do list as we visited Flores, Guatemala was the Maya Temple of Tikal.

We loaded up on the bus at 4 AM so that we could get to the park and make the 2 mile hike to the bottom of the temple and then the five story climb up the stairs before sunrise. (Okay it may not have been five stories, but it sure seemed like it.)

But the view and the sounds from the top were so very worth the effort!!

Once the sun was up, we continued our tour of this huge Mayan site. There were more temples and lots of wildlife.
