Sea Hearts

A few months ago, we retired and moved to Caye Caulker, Belize. We were ready for the “Go Slow” lifestyle of Caye Caulker.

One of my favorite activities is walking along the beach. We’ve done that almost everyday. Two days ago Gene found what looked like a polished, brown heart shaped stone.

They are actually seeds from a jungle plant called Monkey Ladder. They drop off the plant and are washed out to sea where they float and drift, sometimes for years before ending up on some foreign shore to make the day of some delighted tourist like me.
